Stars of Social Media: Use Your Brand for Profit & Grow Followers

On May 17, 2017 photographer and Instagram star Sophie Elgort and Youtube stars Fernanda Neute and Austin Bening were at Parlor for a talk-show style discussion focusing on how to leverage your brand for profit and grow followers. Moderated by artist Annika Connor.

 

Panelists Bios: 

Sophie Elgort is a fashion and portrait photographer with a degree from Brown University. Her work has been featured internationally in magazines including Elle, Glamour, Paper Magazine, Teen Vogue and The Financial Times. Sophie has also created images for brands like ADIDAS, Bloomingdales, Clinique, Etienne Aigner, IBM, J.Crew, Mercedes Benz, Olay, Ralph Lauren and Topshop. Sophie was named Forbes 30 under 30 in the Art and Style category in 2016. Sophie is also the co-founder of Through Our Lens, a non-profit that boots racial, socioeconomic and gender variety in fashion, behind the lens, as well as in front of the camera, by providing life-changing access and significant mentorship to teen girls. Fernanda Neute is a former marketing professional with over 10 years of experience in various disciplines: advertising, branding, online and offline media, as well as social media, and blogging. After traveling the world for 3 years as a digital nomad, she decided to make NYC her home base and became a full time blogger and YouTuber. Austin Bening is a YouTubeman known for peddling such web series as My Gay Roommate, and the newer seasons of Triplets of Kings County and Life After Fat. He's also helped create content at Maker Studios NYC for a cavalcade of Brazilian Makeup Gurus, Talking Dogs, and Viral Pranksters. He is the co-founder of Galaxy Man Productions along with his life partners and surrogate family members. People have described him as "nice-smelling" and "literate."
